The construction of the new and modern factory of “Vilniaus Baldai” in the village of Guopstai in Trakai district is moving towards the end. Project developer – “Inreal Group”, general contractor – “Conresta.” The impressive 73,000 sq ft building will house both manufacturing and administration departments. 24 football stadiums could fit inside the site where the factory is being built. The construction of this new plant is an important milestone for the company. It will allow us to further increase our production capacity, improve working conditions, further improve process efficiency and sustainability. All of this means that we will be able to better meet the needs of our core customer. “Vilniaus baldai” specializes in the production of lightweight construction cabinet furniture. All of the company’s products are sold to IKEA, with whom cooperation began in 1997. IKEA became the main customer of “Vilniaus Baldai” in 2007. The decision to build a new factory was made after “Vilniaus Baldai” signed a long-term contract with IKEA, which envisages increasing sales. The current plant only partially fulfills the agreement, so it was decided to build a new one.

A modern factory in Trakai district is built to the highest standards, based on best practices, taking into account both current and future customer needs. More efficient production processes and new technological solutions will enable “Vilniaus Baldai” to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide emitted into the environment, energy consumption and the amount of waste generated. The construction of the 73,000 sq ft plant is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2020. According to the project’s Environmental Impact Assessment Report, the plant, which will be located near the Vilnius-Druskininkai road, will create a 100 additional jobs. In April 2018, it was announced that “Vilniaus Baldai” would renew its technology and increase production after signing a long-term contract with its largest customer, the Swedish furniture trade group IKEA. “Vilniaus Baldai” sales to IKEA account for about 99% of their total sales.
